The storyline of this game is shot in the virtual county of Montanan of Hope County, focusing on Project at Eden’s Gate. This is a cult based on Doomsday. It practices control over the area under command of a potential leader named Joseph Seed.

Plot 

The local problem of the community in Hope County, Montana is now governed by the progressive cult, Project at Eden’s Door which is led by the siblings of Joseph Seed. After many videos showing Eden’s gate by three different bloggers who want to protect Hope County, the marshal service based in the U.S. declares a warrant for arrest against Joseph Seed.

To arrest Joseph, Marshal Cameron Burke enters the county accompanied by, a junior deputy, Deputy Joey Hudson, Deputy Staci Pratt, and Sheriff Earl Whitehorse. One of Joseph’s followers crashes his helicopter by diving into the rotors just moments after transporting him to their aircraft. As soon as they show up, cultists rescue Joseph and abduct the Hudson. Pratt and Sheriff give the Junior Deputy and Burke time to flee.

Ubisoft Toronto and Ubisoft Montreal created the game, with help of Ubisoft Shanghai, Ubisoft Reflections, and Ubisoft Kyiv. The writing was overseen by Drew Holmes, who’d already worked previously on Bioshock and its digital downloads, and Dan Hay, who acted as head producer on Far Cry 3. The Dunia Engine, a customized version of the CryEngine, was used in the game as it has been in previous installments.

Due to its location on the country’s border, the team decided to put the game in Montana.
