Plot 

Far Cry 6 happens in Yara in 2021, a fictitious Caribbean island nation that got inspired by Cubs and is ruled by Anton Castillo, the dictator. A guerrilla revolution that took place in 1967 plunged the administration of his father which led to the isolation of Yara from the rest of the world.

Since then, the economy of that country has led collapse of brink. In the year 2014, Anton was elected as president and can oversee the development of Viviro, the latest cancer treatment created from the tobacco of Yara, ensuring it will lead to the stability of the economy.

After seven years after being elected, Anton announced a draft lottery for conscripting the citizens as farmers in tobacco cultivation fields. Anton has a son named Diego who is of 13 years and is groomed to become his successor.

In the capital of Esperanza, as the armed forces of Yara round up the citizens for the draft, Dani gets prepared for escaping to Miami in the US by a fishing boat, along with friends like Alejo Ruiz and Lita Torres. Alejo is shot in the head, whereas Lita and Dani escape with the rest of the refugees.

However, Anton can stop the boat and reveal that Diego wanted to attempt to run away with them. After Diego was retrieved, he ordered the sunken boat by gunfire. Dani can survive the commotion and gets up with a wounded Lita on the beach of an island, at a distance from Esperanza.

As Lita was dead, she started urging Dani to search for Clara Garcia nearby, who is the leader of the guerrilla movement. On her arrival, Clara asks Dani to send her invitation to the ex-spymaster as well as the weapon maker named Juan Cortez back here. This causes the distribution of production of Viviro tobacco on the island and also clear blockage trapping all guerrillas in the area.

It is also revealed that he has performed many experiments on the local tobacco workers in camps in an attempt in creating the drug.

Keeping this in his mind, Dani goes to the research facility and kills everyone. In parallels in the El Este, a man called El Tigre is awaiting the arrival of Dani on top of a mountain which houses the old revolutionaries and Anton’s father. When he wants to help Libertad, the rest of the people aren’t willing so Dani starts showing them pictures of the bad working conditions on the farms to get them convinced to join.

As they attempt this, Dani came across an anarchist group of rebellious university students who fight in opposition to the naval commander of Yara named Admiral Benitez. Both groups can be seen uniting and storming the fort of Benitez to kill her and end her rule on seas owned by Yara. They can then start tracking Sean McKay, a businessman from Canada who can handle all Viviro imports and exports, and either make a deal or kill him.

After getting united with the anti-Castillo Forces under Libertad, Dani knows that Anton holds Clara at the villa of his private island in the presence of a parley. When Dani can be seen confronting him, Diego and he reveal the secret of Anton suffering from Leukaemia for 13 years, and the treatment of Viviro stopped working before 6 months.

Responding to the shooting, Anton decided to kill Clara and escape along with Diego to the city of Esperanza. Supported by the forces of anti-Castillo, Dani gets into the presidential palace of Anton all alone and also faces him in his office with a gun. Dani makes a promise to keep Diego protected, but Anton believes that Diego would be tortured because he has been tortured after his father’s death. He starts shooting at them before commuting suicide himself.

The resistant forces get united with Dani to watch the corpses of Castillo. They make an anonymous declaration about Dani becoming the leader of Yara but she shows refusal towards the leadership, turning it back to them. After they bury Clara, Juan and Dani start a raging war against the remaining loyalists of Castillo.

An alternative ending can be seen occurring when Dani starts sailing away from Yara before facing Castillo. Dani can see 3 months after relaxing on Miami Beach, with a broadcasted news explaining how Castillo has given consolidation to hold on to Yara by crushing the rebellious forces and executing Clara.
